Salon duc Tape – Recovery and Resilience-Building in the Poudre Watershed – December 8th
What’s being done to build resilience in the Poudre watershed in the wake of recent wildfires?
Join Megan Maiolo-Heath of Coalition for the Poudre River Watershed (CPRW)at the salon on December 8th to learn about the short- and long-term impacts of wildfire on the Cache la Poudre Watershed. Megan will discuss how CPRW and their partners are working to help restore the land in the wake of megafire. She will also look to the future – how are we learning to live with fire in our forested watersheds and create more resilient riverscapes in the face of a changing climate?
Megan is the Communications, Outreach & Marketing Manager for the CPRW. At the age of 18, she became a whitewater rafting guide, kick starting her obsession with running rivers and, ultimately, her drive to conserve them. Megan received her Masters of Public Administration with certificates in Non-Profit Management and Environmental Policy, Management & Law from the University of Colorado Denver’s School of Public Affairs. In her work with CPRW, she helps further CPRW’s mission of improving and maintaining the ecological health of the Poudre River and share CPRW’s critical work with the wider public.
