“Barbara Lee: Speaking Truth to Power” Film Talkback
March 16 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
A Special Women’s History Month Event
Celebrating Congresswoman Barbara Lee
film and discussion
“Barbara Lee: Speaking Truth to Power,” produced and directed by Abby Ginzberg, is an intimate, inspiring, and timely portrait of Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D CA), a true champion of peace and equality. A single mother of two on food stamps and a survivor of abuse, she went on to become the highest ranking Black woman in the US Congress, currently serving her 12th term. In 2001 she cast the courageous, lone vote against the measure that authorized the war on Iraq. Uncompromising and conscientious to the core, she is a steadfast voice for peace, and for economic and racial justice.
